Change Camera View :

Zoom out the cameras- I have this set on default. I choose tele and Zoom all the way out. This allows you a much more tactical way of playing and its a lot easier to play players into space. I rate this method very highly.

Talk Online

When online speak to other players - they will generally give you answers to the question that you may have.

Practice scoring

I was going through games when i just couldn't score on Fifa 2005. Go on the training pitch and set yourself targets. I literally spent 3 hours perfecting beating the goal keeper in one on one situations.

Shoot when central

Its very hard to score from an angle in Fifa Football 2005. Try and be as central as possible before shooting.

Tap B lightly when shooting

When shooting close to keeper, very lightly tap the shoot (B) button. This will generally put the ball under the keeper and into the net. If you there is a good chance that it will rebound off the keeper for one of your players to tap in to the goal.

Stick with one team

Know your team and formation. Try and keep the same team as then you will be able to play the ball to players without seeing them on screen. This comes with practice, but if you play a lot this will come naturally to you.

Use your Radar

Turn your radar on in Fifa 2005, with practice this can be used to devastating effect. You can then see what runs your and your opponents players are making. This can be used to score and defend very well, but comes down to once again playing the game a lot.
